Journeys of Her is a project spearheaded by a woman for women. The initiative was established in December 2020 in Cape Town, South Africa and was inspired by the founder’s interest in the story behind the success and social impact of the African woman. It aims to seek out the motivations, and personal story, behind the African woman’s success and social impact because of the belief that our success is always driven by our personal observations and experiences.

Journeys of Her actively seeks out and profiles the personal stories of African women, across the continent of Africa, that have had to overcome adversities, to become the trailblazers and game changers that they are, with the aim of empowering and inspiring others. Currently, stories featured on this website hails from Southern Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia), West Africa (Sierra Leone and Nigeria) and East Africa (Kenya) with the hopes of expanding on stories in different parts of Africa. With 54 countries on the continent, the project has the potential of growing exponentially. We would like African women, living on the continent and abroad, to reach out to us, to share their personal journeys.

Every submission is treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality as we work and collaborate to publish the story that honours the women on the African continent. We believe in the importance of sharing the journeys of African women because it is part of her legacy, to her children, grandchildren and future generations. Many of our readers are inspired by the stories shared on this platform. Hence, we believe a story untold is an injustice to anyone.
